Now Is All I Have
Busyness, we make it sound as if it was a domain. I recognize it in myself. Sometimes I act as if I own it. Trust me I try hard not to own it. I did not realize how busy I acted until my husband said: “what is with you and your friends talking mode, it looks like when you are busy you want to tell the whole world your busy you even change your voice and make it sound as if you just came from running (not from jogging) from running from something you want to avoid. If you are really busy do not loose it, control it.”
At first I didn´t pay attention to his words, until I saw it in the other people. The image of their busyness reflected back on me. I started to see busyness controlled people and I have to admit busyness controlled me and not the other around. When I took a hard look at my day I was so buy showing I was so busy that I didn´t have time. And my mother used to say every time she heard somebody saying I do not have time she would answer with ” there is time it is a matter of making it. What there isn´t enough is life so make sure to make time…..”
Busyness can become a priority above friendship, motherhood, husband and so on. Sometimes I catch my self saying no I can´t I am busy. Getting caught up with busyness can take the joy out of tasks and the joy of seeing other people. Busyness should been seen as something that energizes us and not the contrary when you are engage in something you are passionate about it should invigorate you.
So it was time for me to use my favorite prefix “RE” I reevaluated my act on life path and I try to do follow Napoleon’s quote ” I Slow Down Because I am in a Hurry.” And in honor of my mother I can say I make my time.
One of my best remedies has been to think… Now Is All I have.
