Give is the New Get

First of all I want to say thank you to every one who reads Sense and Grace, thank for all your kind comments, I really appreciate each visit, they mean the world to me.

This Christmas I wanted to do a gift guide the name was going to be “Give the new Get”. I believe giving is as a big pleasure as receiving, It is a win win situation. I wanted my guide to include a third party. In other words instead of doing a double wining situation I wanted a triple winning situation. My idea was a gift guide showing only gifts that benefit someone in need when you buy them. To make a long story short, Christmas is here and I was not able to finish my gift guide, maybe next year. But in the meantime I want to share this promotional video with all of you it symbolizes my catalog name “Give is the New Get”. I am sure it will get to your heart. Please, please make sure to see it. You are going to love it. Happy holidays to all of you.

Eco Tuesday / The Story of Stuff.

Before I started to read art, design blogs, I used to read only ecological, eco-artsy blogs and literature novels, and write novels. I wrote my first novel. In one of my posts I mentioned  that I wrote it and lost it. I hope one day I will retrive it from the damage hard drive. Blogging has separated me from it and much more. But I love  my blog, so here I am. I believe eventually I will go back to those other loves, some how, some day.

It took me a while to decide if a wanted an ecological blog or more an art, craft design one. To be honest I chose the artsy one, because to really have a green heart it takes a lot of guts and more than creating, It is about changing. Sadly, I am not ready to change that much. And believe me I am still trying hard for those changes. Bottom line is I love creating and even more important I need to channel my creativity into a way to make money. So that was the main reason I choose the artsy one so that in the near future I can introduce my little creations into this blog.

Back to the point when I used to read the ecological blogs I saw this video , it used to be the only one. Now there  are a couple more. Undoubtedly, many of you have already seen this video but for those who have not this is for you.  Like she mentions it is information we do no like to hear. I believe that those who have the information have the power. Even if it is stuff we may not like to hear It is information, some facts and more; that will give us the power to change.

Let´s remember that mountains are made by little grains of dirt. So which ever little even tiny change we do towards our planet will today or someday make a huge difference.

Mistletoe Decorations

Hola, I hope you had a nice weekend, mine stars feeling like christmas. To keep in the holiday mood I thought we´d start off the week with  a group of the beautiful mistletoe decorations the christmas related love symbol.

I find mistletoe a very interesting plant as it is dual categorized: partial parasite plant the one which grows in the branches or trunk of a tree and also capable of growing  on its own.

Mistletoe is one of the most famous Christmas symbols. From earliest times  some cultures consider the plant to have mystical powers. Then through the years it has been consider a magical plant (european folklore). There are various legends associated with this plant.

At one time it was placed over the doorways for good luck. It was also believed to be a carrier of peace therefore hang at the entrance door, enemies would embrace it.

Also been associated with life-giving reason used in marriage rites. Most of this legends have been forgotten. But the custom of exchanging a kiss under the mistletoe can still be found in Europe and it is growing in America. The tradition is to kiss under a some branches of mistletoe and it is believed that does who do it will be grant with strength, peace, health, fertility and/or love.
