Plant a seed and watch it grow

Howdy folks! Like Vale mentioned, sorry for the lack of posts lately…. things around here have fortunately been full of fabulous events! Anyway… let´s get right to it…. GROWING YOU OWN VEGGIES… tan tan taaaaaan!!!

For quite a few years I had been really wanting to grow a garden but due to my undeniable power to drift around this had been an impossible task… that is until I met Nancy… One epic day she asked me to take care of her gorgeous house and I had no choice but to accept… so with great gifts come great responsibilities and this meant for me to stay put for 6 whole months!! So part of the deal was to take care of the garden… and boy, was I loving it… Everyday, morning and evening out spending time with the plants… until that day came when I had to take off for a good ten days but couldn’t leave the babies without any water.. so lo and behold I discovered the magnificent, the phenomenal, the life saving TIMERS!! Wow, what a wonderful babysitter these turned out to be!! It is so EASY to install this system, you can purchase everything you need at you local hardware store and you won´t spend over 50 bucks!

The biggest hurdle here was transplanting the seedlings from a tray to the soil… but watching  a few tutorials online, made it a piece of cake… thank God for gardening nerds who share this valuable info with the world!! So here is the low down… All you have to do is measure out the length of your garden bed, figure out where everything will grow (make sure to research how much space you need between everything), cut small holes in the larger hose, with convenient connectors attach smaller hoses which go to each set of plants, figure out weather you need a sprinkler or a drip ( tomatoes for example don’t like water on their leaves so you need a drip), set the timer twice a day for a few minutes… and VOILA!! Witness a miracle right before your eyes!!

If you can’t find the supplies you need at home, here are a few online sources that might help!! Timers and supplies :)

Until next time… happy planting!!

Free Download: SYBIOTIC LOVE card

Big Hello out to all of my dear friend Valeria’s blog followers! This is Pilar Arrieta tuning in from beautiful Los Cabos and I must say,  I do feel absolutely honored to be invited to regularly participate in Sense & Grace.  I have decided that my column’s name will be Irid Essence, due to my love for the magical play of light and color along with the intrigue of that which we can not see or touch. This however, is not to say that I am borderline obsessed with the lost tangibility of this electronic age we live in. Any-who… here’s a  little bio: I am a 26 year old Mexican-American, went to school in Austin TX for Graphic Design and Fine Arts and currently find myself living in paradise doing a little of this and that but mostly enjoying life. Today I would like to share with y’all an illustrated watercolor card I made inspired by an odd couple that can’t live without each other. I printed these on kraft paper and was quite happy with the results. Different colored paper can be interesting due to the “white” bubbles. Don’t be shy to share you own results, e-mail us and we can post them! click here to download :)
